Setting Up: How to install the hardware and download the software

To connect the Bits++ to your PC or Mac follow the instructions given in the "Getting Started Guide" which you can download by going to the CRS website Support section and selecting Bits++ > Getting Started Guide.

The best way to use the Bits++ is by connecting it to the second output of your graphics card and extending your Windows desktop onto it. As far as Windows is concerned, it is then treated like any other monitor.

To start using the Bits++ with Psychtoolbox the best thing to do is to download the demo MatLab scripts from the CRS website. These can be found in the Support sections under Bits++ > Psychtoolbox Support. There is a new Bits++ Toolbox for MatLab being developed. It is still at the "beta" stage but this is the best version of the demo library to use and the rest of this guide will assume that it is this version that you are using.
