Q: Why does it take 40 s to open my first window on Mac OS/X with Power PC Macintosh computers?
A: ""Screen('OpenWindow',0)"" normally takes only a few seconds (white startup screen), but can take 40 s or so (black screen) on some systems to open the first window if the OS-9 Classic environment is running in the background. Turn off Classic. We don't yet know why Classic matters, and we hope to eliminate this effect in the future.
